Writing a Term Paper Outline
A term paper is a research paper that students write for an academic term. It makes up the majority of a passing score. The word «term» originates from the word ‘term’. What exactly is an introduction? The introduction is the very first paragraph in any term paper. It’s intended to draw readers to read the remainder of the written work. The goal of an introduction is to convince the reader to read more regardless of the information contained in the rest of the paper or for another reason.
This is where the majority of term papers begin. The author of the term paper (who is also the author of the research results) starts by presenting his or her background and research findings in support of the argument they are trying to make. The next step is to review the literature that affected the research. It begins with a summary of the research findings that include at minimum three major research results and at least two of which must have been published in peer-reviewed journals at that moment in time. Then, there should be an overview or analysis of the research results.
The summary of the thesis statements should be included at the end. The summary should begin with the thesis statement and ends with a concise critique or interpretation (if it is the case). In some instances, the thesis statement is the whole term paper. Sometimes it will be a preamble to your main thesis statement. In the latter case the introduction and conclusion paragraphs of each chapter will contain the thesis statement.
Let’s look at what should be included in this introduction to term papers. The first thing is to ensure you have a clear introduction. Some people use incorrect fonts and have their names written in all caps or have inconsistent spacing between words. These are all errors that can detract the quality of your work and make it difficult for readers to comprehend. This is especially true when the paper is going to be read by others (e.g.graduate students, employers). If you need to modify the format of the standard introduction, ensure that you edit it accordingly.
Then, you can include an Introduction in the body section of your term paper. Your introduction should not be too long or the reader may become bored.
